Dear Kids: Just Remember...

"Though nobody can go back and make a new beginning...Anyone can start over and make a new ending."  -Chico Xavier

Every first day of school is a new beginning. Regardless of how the previous year began or ended, now is the time to reach your goals, make new friends, and reinvent yourself. Everything is in front of you. Here are the top 5 things to remember that first day at your locker:

1)  Everyone struggles! Pick up a dropped book or pencil. Make room at the lunch table. Be THAT person's partner.  Greet your teachers.  Think before laughing with the crowd. Help someone in need.

2) Live outside your comfort zone! Make new friends. Attempt the challenge questions. Discover a new interest.  Get involved. Participate in class. Question the status quo. Dream big.

3)  Work Smarter, not harder!  Keep a calendar of ALL commitments. Do the homework assigned. Check the portal. Don't beg for extra credit. Put your papers in the correct folders. Study, like the way teachers tell you.  Get help before, not after the test.  Try your best. Don't make excuses for your worst.

4)  Set a goal, and achieve it!  Learn from your mistakes. Be realistic.  Develop passion for a subject, not a grade. Live in the moment. Think about the future.  Share your goal with a friend. Go after what you want. There will always be haters.

5)  Forget about last year! The past can't be changed. The past doesn't have to be repeated. You have 180 new days ahead of you.  You're taller than last year. You're smarter than last year. You're braver than last year. It's called growing up for a reason.

HAVE A WONDERFUL 2015-16 SCHOOL YEAR!!!
